Your Mortality and Mine?

Today death seems to be on the news daily, as we hear the latest figures at the evening briefing. Let me share the words of Dr. Ami Jones, the I.C.U. Consultant from Royal Gwent Hospital Wales on the BBC morning news 6th April. She was asked by presenter Dan Walker what her thoughts were. She replied, “My patients are very young, two in their twenties some in their thirties and upwards, they are profoundly sick, some on ventilators for up to 3 weeks. Around the UK, 50% of those in critical care we can’t save. It makes me feel very mortal”.

Death is not a spectator sport; we will all be part of it. Is there any hope before we face our earthly end, however it may come?

The Bible declares:

“Look unto me and be saved all the ends of the earth for I am God, and there is none else.” – Isaiah 40v22

“Come now let us reason together though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow…” – Isaiah 1v18

Jesus said, “…that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations…” – Luke 24v47
