Draw near to God and He will draw near to you – James 4v8.
At the moment we look forward to the day when we will no longer have to social distance. Many families have found it hard not to meet with relatives and friends over this period, although we can see the wisdom and understand the reasons why.
The one person that we can draw close to at this time is God. The verse above (James 4v8), invites us to draw near to God. Naturally speaking, this is something quite remarkable in that by nature and practice we are sinners (we all do things wrong)… yet God is sinless and holy. But due to the person of God’s Son, the Lord Jesus who went to the cross and died for sinners, we can find forgiveness and a relationship with God through faith and repentance (turning from sin). At this time, we would encourage you to seek the Lord while He may be found and call upon Him while He is near (Isaiah 55v6).
