We trust that you and your loved ones are keeping well at this time!
Over the past few weeks it has been incredibly uplifting to observe the kindness, generosity and resourcefulness of many people. Whether this has been individuals working to meet the needs of the vulnerable in the community; or organisations on all scales adapting their production to make hand sanitiser, face masks, and PPE for frontline workers; or creative fundraising initiatives – all of these are surely driven by a compassion and love for those who are suffering in any capacity during this time of crisis.
Whilst here on earth the Lord Jesus spoke about love, amongst many other things. He gave this commandment to His disciples “…love one another; as I have loved you” (John 13 v. 34). The love of Jesus is something which exceeds any love that that we could demonstrate; it moved Him to give his life so that we could have our sins forgiven, “For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God” (1 Peter 3 v. 18). To come into the good of this and be saved, we simply have to obey the instruction “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ” (Acts 16 v. 31).
